FFK Golf Day 4th July 2022 - results

FFK was delighted to host its annual charity golf day yesterday at the magnificent Royal Blackheath Golf Club in Eltham.

Organised to raise funds for the charities that FFK supports in the UK and abroad, the event would not have been possible without our sponsors. We are enormously grateful to CME Group, our lead tournament sponsor; gold sponsors ION Markets and Trading Technologies; silver sponsor Global Commodities Holdings; and bronze sponsors ADMISI, Barclays, Eventus, FIA, KRM22 and Meritsoft.

Returning to its traditional 4th July date, 13 teams marked US Independence Day with a fiercely fought competition to win the coveted Bob Ray Memorial Trophy. Following breakfast, kindly sponsored by Trading Technologies, 52 golfers set off for a shotgun start.

In addition to the Team and Individual Competitions, players battled it out to win the Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive challenges. With the mercury rising players stayed hydrated with on-course refreshments provided by ION Markets.

The prize-giving followed a barbecue lunch for players and guests, generously sponsored by CME Group.

The Bob Ray Memorial Trophy was awarded to tournament winners Team Barclays (Sachin Mehta, Jimmy Smith, Brad Plowman and Per Haga) with a winning score of 97 points.

CME Teams 1 and 2 were placed second and third, with 93 and 92 points, respectively.

The winning individual player was Charles Branch, also a member of CME Team 1, with 45 points.

The competition hole winners were as follows:

  • Longest Drive (sponsored by CME Group) – Andrew Fordyce

  • Longest Drive (sponsored by ION Markets) – Stefan Lucas

  • Nearest the Pin (sponsored by Trading Technologies) – Per Haga

  • Nearest the Pin (sponsored by Global Commodities Holdings) – Andrew Fordyce

Congratulations to all!

The last-placed individual of the day was someone who had valiantly stepped in at the last minute to replace a Covid-hit colleague. We will leave it up to him whether he declares this accolade but hope that the bottle of champagne we presented him with went some way to consoling him.

Our heartfelt thanks for the generosity of our sponsors, and all those who took part, for your help in raising much-needed funds for FFK’s charities.

We look forward to seeing you next year!
